Crissy Crissy is a lot like Mark when it comes to her over-all ability. Out of all the counselor's, Crissy can jump the highest. Her speed is close but second to Mark. Her rowing is much like Mark's (fast). In terms of strategy look to use Crissy as a scout who ventures to the cave to collect important items which will improve you're chances against Jason. |
Debbie A complete waste of time. What makes Debbie so frustrating (for me) is her speed. She can barely jump over passing zombies let alone make it to the cabin at need. Her only attribute among her peers is her rowing skills. Out of the six counselor's Debbie has managed to be the 2nd best at rowing only to Mark (the man). If you want to make any progress in this game just leave Debbie alone and use the more versitaille counselor's. Use Debbie as a last resort. |
George Much like Debbie; has no talent. You're best scenerio would be to have George situated in a cabin located on the lake. The most effective role for George is to rescue the children when Jason is in their cabins. |
Laura Probably the most all-round of the group. She definitely runs faster then her friends but has trouble rowing. She can almost jump as high as Crissy can which makes her an excellent candidate to trek into the depths of the forest in search of weapons in the secret cabins and medicine located on the trail I guess she would be the person in the group who would run "errands" for everyone else. |
Mark When playing "friday the 13th", this is the guy you want to focus on. He is ideal in every aspect of the game. He is the best rower. He can easily surpass zombies on the trails and is by far the fastest runner of the six. When playing this game you will find yourself using this counselor the most. Like Crissy, try to collect special weapons such as the "machete" and pass these items to the counselors hanging near the lake. Once all counselor's have a weapon other then the rock, you should find yourself coasting through the game. That is if you have the timing. |
Paul He doesn't have many weaknesses. Keep Paul near the lake and use him in conjunction with George. This way you can establish a system for fighting Jason. I've always found that Paul resists Jasons attacks more predominantly than the rest. Now this may be just an observation. But keep that in mind well fighting Jason. The best way to resist Jasons blows is to not be there when he attacks (common sense). |
Lighter Found throughout the campsite. Use this item to light fireplaces in the big cabins located on the map. |
Flashlight Found when all 7 fires are burning in each of the 7 big cabins located on the map. The flashlight can be very useful in the caves. It shows the player where the secret doors are located and most importantly where Jason's Mother's lair can be found. without the flashlight With the flashlight |
Key Found anywhere on the trails. Once a counselor yields this item he or she can open any door in the game. That mean the door to Jasons Mother, or even the secret cabins located in the forests. |
Medicine Use this item to cure yourself or the other 5 counselor's. Found mainly in the forests. Make sure you don't get lost though. Personally when I find medicine on the trails I keep it to myself so when I am fighting jason in the latter stages of the game and I die, the medicine will "ressurect" me ;hence prolonging the brutal battle. |
Sweater My favorite item in the game. In the friday the 13th movie this item was Jason's Mother's sweater which she wore until her head was chopped off in the first installment to the series. I just like the idea that a counselor who wears this piece of clothing resists Jasons attacks more effectively. Found (or should I say won) on the 2nd day after you fight Mrs Vorrheas for the second time. You'll notice after one of the counselor's has found this item, their garment will be flashing. |
Note Found throughout the game in select cabins. Basically they give you tips regarding secret items such as the torch. If your a first time gamer to this title, I suggest you pay attention to these messages for you may find your missing something important. But you don't need these "notes" to understand the concept of the game. But if your like me who is a perfectionist read them! |
Rock By far the weakest weapon in the game (in other words you start with it). Very akward weapon. In order to hit zombies you have to kneel down which makes a battle that much more frustrating. Try to look for knives popping up as you go through the game. |
Knife Not the most powerful weapon but atleast it flies straight rather then up and over (like rocks). Found on the trails by jumping around. Once a counselor yields this weapon they can pretty much fend for themselves without to much trouble. |
Machete One of the more versitaille weapons in the game. It kills enemies with one hit and flies through the air at a fast pace. There are three methods of finding this item - Killing a bunch of zombies. I suggest you kill enemies near your cabin so when Jason strikes you can quickly retreat into the cabin and switch characters. -Finding one of three secret cabins. Inside machete's can be found. However on some occasions you may find no weapon in a secret cabin. -Killing Jasons Mother on the first day. Killing Mrs Vorrheas on the first day using the Machete will result in his Mother awarding you the axe. |
Axe One of the power weapons found in the game but slower than the machete. You can find this item in the secret cabins in the forest or in the cave. To get it in the cave though, you MUST fight Jasons Mother on the first day with the machete. Once you have this item pass it to one of your friends so you won't lose it by jumping into a knife on the trails. I prefer the machete over this item due to its speed. |
Torch The 2nd most powerful weapon in the game. Although it has the capability of enflicting the same amount of damage as the pitchfork, it doesn't go as far. Infact it's range is very poor. The one advantage it has over the pitchfork is that once it has been released it remains burning for a second or two. To find this item you must first light all the big cabin's fireplaces and then with that same counselor enter one of two big cabins near the lake. As you complete this task you may notice a few notes guiding you through. This may sound easy but after a series of trial and error expiditions I finally found this instrumental item. |
Pitchfork Gained primarily by defeating Jason's Mother on the 3rd day in her lair. This is the most powerful-versitaille weapon in the game. It causes equal amount of damage as the torch does, moves much faster and ranges the whole entire screen. It has the potential to keep on going across the screen after hitting any enemy. Therefore it only shows up once in the game which increases its value. I suggest passing this item to a stationary counselor after you find it. |
Zombie Found pretty much anywhere in the game. Rise from the grounds on the trails at times where you'd least expect it. Be alert and patient. You have no hope defeating them all. |
Blue Zombie Essentially the same as the ground zombies except they rise ebruptly out of the water as you ride the canoe towards or away from the lakeside cabin's. As long as you keep the canoe steady and controlled you should have no trouble advancing passed these monsters unscaved. |
Crow Found on the trails and in the lake. Practice and timing are the keys here. Once you understand the crows movements you should have no trouble killing or atleast dodging these rather annoying birds. |
Bats Found in the cave. One of the night dwelling creatures whose actions are quite predicatable. Try and position the counselor in such a way that they can run away or get in a clean shot without falling off the edges in the cave. |
Brown Wolf The brown wolves live in the forest and only come out at night. The most frustrating enemy in the game besides Jason. They're tough, fast and leap at you. If you see one in the woods quickly run the other direction or try and go up/down the closest available path. To illude these annoying animals I suggest you go into the forest during the day. |
Blue Wolf Much like the brown wolf except they roam the caves instead of the forests |
Mrs. Voorhees In "Friday the 13th" the movie, Mrs. Voorhees gets her head chopped off during the climax to the film. Since then Jason builds a "shrine" in memory of her. In that shrine Jason puts his mothers head upon a table with the sweater she wore. This is where the concept for this videogame came from. Each day Jason's Mother has a special item she can award you if you defeat her. On day one she gives you a machete or axe depending on what weapon you kill her with. Day two she awards that counselor the "sweater" which she wore before her head was chopped off. I don't know exactly how this protects you from Jason but I remember a scene in the movie where the main character wears this sweater in order to trick Jason into thinking she was his mother. So maybe thats how this item works. And finally on day three (if you make it this far) Mrs. Voorhees gives you the pitchfork! If you want to learn more about the pitchfork, scroll up to the items section. Anyways Jasons mother attacks much like her son. She swoops down at you like a spider. Make sure you'r moving at all times. When she attacks use the dodge defence tactic then quickly get in a couple shots if you can. Repeat this until she dies. |
Jason Voorhees Since Mrs. Voorhees's death , Jason has vowed revenge on every single person who sets foot on his Mother's grave, Camp Crystal Lake. In battle Jason has a distinct pattern that anyone can learn with practice. Just remember to dodge right before he attacks you. Each day Jason begins to speed up but the pattern remains the same. So if your having trouble in the second or third day I suggest you use game genie to see the corny ending. Try to avoid Jason on the trails because its pretty much inevitable you get hit hit atleast once. Watch how Jason movies during interior battles. Its as if hes dancing. |
